Central Caribbean Cup 2025 Adult Male Individual Kata - 5th place ———————————————————————————— 🇹🇹 vs 🇬🇩 ✅ 🇹🇹 vs 🇬🇾✅ 🇹🇹 vs 🇩🇴✅ 🇹🇹 vs 🇬🇹 ❌ (Semi Finals) 🇹🇹 vs 🇵🇦❌ (Bronze Medal Match) ———————————————————————————— A roller coaster of emotions about this tournament. During the lead up I didn’t feel that I was ready. Training was tough, work was hectic and overall I felt that I was doing a poor job of juggling everything. Really grateful for my support system @gentilleq and my family for always being there to listen and encourage me when I doubt myself. ❤️ I’ve been to this tournament 3 times prior and I was always eliminated in the first round. Fast forward to yesterday and I was finally out of the first round and made it all the way to a medal match for the first time at this level. Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to bring it all the way home and I was really disappointed in my final round performance (3 stumbles in one kata 😣.) I know that I hit several new highs at this tournament (these have actually been some of my best performances to date) but having the final round end on such a low note is overshadowing everything right now. ☹️ Really grateful as always to my team: My coach, Dr Nicole Lambie who’s been a superstar these last few months and especially at this tournament. @movementmechanics_tt @amanda.johnson_athlettude @camillegallinger @cleiverkarate1 would not be here without you Funny enough, during the first day of the competition I was watching one of the youngest members of our team compete for the first time. He’d never been a WKF event before. (I’m not even sure that he realized that he’d gotten a tough draw 😅) but he was out there clearly having the time of his life and enjoying every minute of it. We always say to enjoy the moment but something about actually seeing him having a blast finally clicked it into place for me. I’ve put a lot of work and sacrifice into chasing this dream and there’ve been a LOT of low moments so it’s easy to get caught up in the negatives. So moving forward, here’s to not just trusting but also enjoying the process. 👊🏽 Stay tuned! Osu! #karate #kata #teamtto #dreamchaser
