T&T's athletes made a huge jump on the medal standings at the Central American and Caribbean (CAC) Games on Thursday night with five medals, inclusive of three gold and two silver in El Salvador.
Jereem Richards, the T&T half-lap and one-lap sprinter was among the gold medal winners, along with the 2012 Olympic Games javelin gold medallist Keshorn Walcott, the members of the 4x100 metres men's relay team, and the members of the 4x100 women's relay team who got a silver in the final.
Richards, entering the final of the 400m sprint on the back of a relatively slow 45.96 seconds which he produced in the semifinal on Tuesday, was in ominous form in Thursday's final.
