Trinidad and Tobgao's female sprinters made history today (Sunday 8th) at the Carrara Stadium after all three women qualified for the Women's 100m Final.
Khalifa St. Fort ran in Semifinal 1, finishing 3rd in 11.35 behind Jamaican Natasha Morrison (11.27) and England sprinter Asha Phillip (11.21).
Michelle Lee Ahye, no stranger to the 100m final, also sealed her place in the finals crossing the finish line in 11.25 to top semifinal 2.
While Reyare Thomas also copped her spot in the finals after placing 2nd in 11.36 in semifinal 3 which earned her automatic qualification.
All three women will return to the Carrara Stadium tomorrow (9th April) at 9:50pm Australian time.
Paralympic gold medallist Akeem Stewart also secured his place in the Men's Shot Put final after surpassing the qualfying distance with 19.11 throw this afternoon. The Commonwealth Games is the first abled bodied International Multisport event for Akeem.
Team TTO's youngest cyclist at the Games, Nicholas Paul, set a new sea- level National record in the Men's 1000m Time Trial with a blistering 1:01.899.
To end the night's activities, Dylan Carter placed 5th in the Men's 100m Freestyle touching the wall in 48.60 and setting a new national record and personal best time.
